Meet Ciera Schoonover

Implementation Specialist

Ciera Schoonover, Ph.D., MSW, MPH, is a licensed clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). Before MTSU, she completed a doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Center of Excellence (COE) for Children in State Custody at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, providing assessment, intervention and consultation for child welfare-involved youth and their multidisciplinary child-serving teams.

Her research and clinical interests focus on child maltreatment prevention and intervention, and on increasing access to evidence-based caregiver-child interventions for underserved populations. She serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of PCIT International and is an implementation specialist supporting PCIT implementation in the state of California.
